Welcome!
I am Anthony Labarre, Ph. D. in Computer Science (thesis supervised by from October 2004 to May 2008, available here). My research interests include genome rearrangements (have a look at my book), data compression, DNA computing, and lie more generally in the application of combinatorial and algorithmic techniques to all kinds of problems (mostly from biology up to now, but anything fun will do).News
- 2012-01-13: I will be visiting Stéphane Vialette and the AlgoB group from January 30th to February 5th.
- 2012-01-04: I submitted the following preprint to arxiv: Lower bounding edit distances between permutations. Happy new year, by the way ;-)
- 2011-12-14: I will be giving a talk at the Algorithms & Permutation 2012 workshop that will take place in Paris on February 20-21. Hope to see you there (by the way, registration is mandatory but free!).
- 2011-12-07: My book review of Gabriel Valiente's book will soon appear in the SIGACT News Book Review Column. Meanwhile, you can read the preprint here.
- 2011-11-15: I'll be presenting a poster at BBC 2011, let's meet there!
- 2011-04-19: Simona Grusea and I published "The distribution of cycles in breakpoint graphs of signed permutations" on arxiv.
- 2010-10-04: "Polynomial-time sortable stacks of burnt pancakes" is now ready to be published in Theoretical Computer Science. Those of you who can't wait can have a look at the preprint on arXiv.
- 2010-09-15: I am now a postdoctoral researcher at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, in Jan Ramon's ERC-funded MiGraNT team.
- 2010-04-12: Added a software page.
