Dirk Jacobs est professeur en sociologie à l'Université Libre de Bruxelles. Il est affilié au Groupe de recherche sur les Relations Ethniques, les Migrations et l’Egalité (GERME) de l'Institut de Sociologie. Dirk Jacobs is hoogleraar sociologie aan de ULB. Hij is eveneens gastprofessor aan de FUSL. Dirk Jacobs is professor in sociology and political science in the bilingual city-region of Brussels (Belgium), where he teaches in French, English and Dutch. From October 2010 until January 2011 he was visiting professor at the Urban Studies Priority Research Programme, University of Amsterdam (department of political sciences). Jacobs has been awarded an ERC Starting Grant in 2011 for the project "Equal opportunities for migrant youth in educational systems with high levels of social and ethnic segregation - assessing the impact of school team resources".
