University residence
A bit cheaper are the rooms for visitors on the campus of the VUB (Vrije
Universiteit Brussel= Dutch speaking Free University of Brussels):
U-residence
This residence is located next to Etterbeek train station (Check this map), which has frequent connections
to Brussels-Luxemburg train station. Travel time is 3 to 5 minutes (with zero
or one intermediate stop). The full schedule can be found at
this page. All northbound trains from
Etterbeek call at Brussels-Luxemburg (but not all southbound trains from
Bru-Lux call at Etterbeek, because Bru-Lux is an intercity station while
Etterbeek is a local station). This is the list of trains between 8am and 9am:
